The Play of the Elements
How do the elements in the world move - even play? How can we experience our connectedness to that elemental play, rather than be separate from it?
Time & Location
23 Sept, 17:00 – 30 Sept, 11:00
Dhanakosa, Balquhidder, Lochearnhead FK19 8PQ, UK
In dance and improvisation, we can allow ourselves to playfully enter new realms and explore new ways of being.
We will explore the movement of the Five Elements (Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space) in our own bodies, in meditation, and in the way we relate to one another.
The elements show us different ways of being:
- solid - like earth
- flowing, always downwards - like water
- always rising up - like fire
- all possibilities are open, moving in all directions, suddenly - like air
- all of that is held in space, comes from space but never hinders space or fills it ....
We will pay close attention to the play of the elements, experiencing them directly in nature, in ourselves and in our interactions with each other. In meditation and in movement improvisation we let them lead us into a dance with ever new experience. Joining this dance, we bridge the gap between stillness and engagement. Practicing indoors and in nature, we find our unique place in the elemental play of the world.
Easy physical improvisational exercises will help us to become more present, and open to more light and joy. This will enrich our attention within and outside of meditation with the spirit of discovery.
This retreat is open to all and does not need previous experience in movement or meditation. Come and join - contact me to book or with any questions.
