About
An afternoon of meditation and dance, to tune into being new and fresh in each moment.
It is the time of New Year's Resolutions.... yet we know how quickly good intentions can fade, if they come just from good ideas and are not anchored deeply into our body and being.
Linking body-based improvisation with meditation we can research how moments of openness present themselves in direct experience. How it is to respond in a flexible way, or how is it to harden against what is presenting itself to us? Let us be interested in moments when we are porous, and moments when we defend, and how that feeds itself through multiple factors around. We can notice this without judgement or shame. This can then be taken directly into meditation, where we are sensitized to those movements in the mind.
We never know what the new year will bring - or not even the next day or even hour! Let us research with dance and play, to be available for whatever comes, as Rumi teaches us in The Guest House:
'This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
As an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!'
We will engage in movement, meditation and some exploration with sharing experience and talking about the theme, bringing us together across distance and letting us arrive more fully here, in our home, where we are. And discover how fresh this can be.
This is an afternoon's gathering, open to all, and does not need previous experience in movement or meditation. It is offered on the basis of dana - that is you are welcome to attend and to give whatever you can financially. I invite you to keep in mind that I do also need financial support in order to make these offerings, so a spirit of generosity is very much encouraged, in all directions.
Please register ahead for this course here. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the online meetings. If you have any other questions, please write to me here - I will be in touch.
I look forward to exploring more in your company!
